Children’s dentistry is my passion. As a mother, I would do anything for my child. I know that all parents want to do the best for their children. You also want to make sure that your child is comfortable. As a result, we recommend early orthodontic treatment. In children’s dentistry, at around age 7, we recommend an assessment to diagnose the condition and development of your child’s jaw and teeth. Why is this so important? Because during growth, we can have the most impact and help your child achieve beautiful results. We can correct issues early, as your child grows. Therefore, let us assess your child early, rather than waiting till they are teenagers.
1. We make it a pleasant experience for you and your child
In children’s dentistry, we believe it is extremely important for both parents and children to be involved in orthodontic care. You will have a few things to learn, but we will make sure you are comfortable and you understand what’s happening. We provide complimentary consultations with Dr. Bis after we collect measurements, take records, and pictures of your child’s teeth. Hence, you are never left with unanswered questions.
2. We protect your child’s jaw and surrounding teeth
The jaw is a powerful part of the body as it is responsible for so many of our daily functions (chewing, talking, yawning, and swallowing). Because it is such an important joint, it must be delicately treated. One of the ways children’s dentistry can help is by starting care early. That helps prevent bigger problems later on.
3. We help kick-start a lifetime of good oral health
If you have crooked teeth, you likely have an uneven tooth surface. As a result, you end up having a harder time cleaning your teeth. When bacteria, plaque, and food can get caught in these areas of the teeth, they can lead to gum disease, bone disease, or cavities. If we straighten your child’s teeth, your child becomes better at brushing. And that leads to healthier teeth longterm.
4. We make braces FUN
While most kids get excited for braces or appliances, we understand that not everyone is eager to start something new. This is why we try to make the experience as fun as possible for your child. Your child can watch a show on Netflix during all of their appointments They can also pick a prize from our “Treasure Chest,” and be involved in all of their treatment. Plus, when the braces come off, we have a little surprise for them!
5. We prevent surgery and future medical issues
In Children’s dentistry, we know surgery can be scary, especially for young children and their parents. Therefore, we offer early orthodontic treatment so that we can reduce the need for surgery. In addition, we can avoid having to remove perfectly healthy adult teeth in order to create more room. This means a hassle-free and more comfortable experience for parents and kids.
