Many patients ask about how to detox while having their mercury fillings removed. There are 4 powerful detox agents that I favour when it comes to helping you on your path to better health.
Detox with Activated Charcoal
Activated charcoal is a very effective detox agent when it comes to eliminating toxins and poisonous substances from the body. The fine charcoal particles in activated charcoal attract toxins to its surface and help it pass through the bowels.
Activated charcoal is estimated to reduce absorption of poisonous substances up to 60%. Charcoal taken right before or after amalgam removal is helpful in absorbing and eliminating mercury that may have been accidentally ingested during the removal process. It is best when taken between meals, ideally with water since fruit juice or dairy will cause it to lose much of its effectiveness.
Vitamin C
Vitamin C has long been known for its ability to support the body during detox and is frequently used when helping flush out toxins and heavy metals.
Note that vitamin C should not be taken the day of amalgam removal since it can reduce the effectiveness of local anesthetic. However, if you take it after the procedure it can help the anesthetic wear off faster.
Chlorella & Cilantro
Chlorella and Cilantro work together to help bind mercury in preparation for its removal from your body.
Chlorella is a mercury magnet. This algae plant has a fibrous, indigestible outer shell that grabs mercury and secures it. Chlorella is not digested–it moves mercury through the body for safe and effective elimination.
Cilantro, on the other hand, helps with elimination. It naturally moves mercury.
Combining chlorella and cilantro allows them to work together effectively to trap and eliminate mercury. It is very important to note that chlorella and cilantro should be taken at the same time to ensure that mobilized mercury won’t be reabsorbed by the body.
