Building Healthy Lifelong Dental Habits
5 Ways to Help Kids Practice Healthy Dental Habits:
Start Young: Getting kids to the dentist as early as six months old is a great way to create a positive relationship between your child and Dr. Bis and helps alleviate fears at future visits.
Watch: Ensure your child is brushing and flossing correctly. It is easy for kids to miss the insides and very back of their teeth. Brush together when you can and correct bad habits early.
Healthy Choices: Monitor and limit the sugary drinks and foods that we know cause harm to teeth. Help your child understand why water and fruit, like apples, (nature’s toothbrush) are good choices for overall health.
Lead by Example: When your child sees you practicing good oral health and coming in for regular checkups, they will follow in your footsteps.
Remain Positive: Help your child create a positive view of Dental care by talking about the dentist, and oral care in a confident, and positive way.

Taking Family History into Account
The more we know, the more proactive we can be about your oral health care.
On your first visit, we complete a thorough interview to build a better overall picture of your health, and assess any potential for Dental issues moving forward. We cover topics like family history of cancer, cardiovascular issues, allergies, diabetes and joint issues.
Before your first visit, we encourage you to ask questions of your family members to identify any family Dental and overall health concerns that might exist.
